Dominion Energy is committed to supporting communities. We already have a record of community involvement in South Carolina. Hear directly from the South Carolina organizations where we have made an impact below:
“Dominion Energy has been a donor of both financial and material resources to the Red Cross. During the historic South Carolina floods in 2015, they provided $50,000 and made resources available to use to help move life-saving blood to area hospitals. Dominion Energy also has contributed hundreds of volunteer leadership hours.”
“Recently, Dominion Energy stepped up to fund Project Open Arms, our outreach program addressing the homelessness crisis, not only in the Midlands but also in Calhoun, Colleton, and Hampton Counties where the number of homeless adults and children is skyrocketing. Dominion Energy’s partnership allows us to provide emergency support to those in need like food, lodging, and medical care. Our experience working alongside Dominion Energy has shown us this is a company that wants to make life better for the people they serve.”
"Dominion Energy's generous grant has helped the College of Charleston's Elementary Engineers empower and support 25 Charleston-area elementary teachers as they enhance their engineering content knowledge and inquiry-based pedagogical skills, while increasing access to high-quality, real-life STEM challenges for more than 400 K-5th students, both in the classroom and during the summer months. Furthermore, Dominion's support has helped Elementary Engineers grow its services through a school-wide implementation for the 2018-2019 school year and during the summer months as the STEM partner for Impact360 Summer Success, a comprehensive summer program for K-12 low-income youth launching in summer 2018 at the College of Charleston."
“Through corporate contributions, annual food drives, employee volunteer activities, and support for emergency food needs and our child feeding program, Dominion Energy has helped Harvest Hope Food Bank provide food, comfort and hope to hungry individuals and families in the Palmetto State. In total, Dominion Energy has provided food and funds equal to 250,000 meals in the last three years.”
"Since Dominion Energy entered the South Carolina market in 2015, they have been supportive of Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina and the mission of inspiring the future to succeed in the global economy. Through generous gifts of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, Junior Achievement has been able to reach an additional 1,000 students over the past two years in K-12 schools over an eight-county region, teaching them life skills of financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. Also, Dominion Energy has funded a Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day at their facility in Columbia where local high school students were able to learn about career opportunities that are available to them in the future and what it takes to succeed in those careers. In addition, Dominion Energy has reached out to and secured from its business partners additional financial and volunteer support for JA's mission to prepare and inspire the youth of South Carolina."
“This year, with funding from Dominion Energy and other sponsors, the Charleston STEM Festival is adding a ‘career concourse’ that will feature information on a variety of career options for kids in the fields of science, technology, education and math. Dominion Energy is a company that has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and community involvement.”
“Middle Tyger Community Center is dedicated to helping families and individuals on the path to financial stability, but we also recognize that it is impossible for a person to focus on long-term change when they are hungry. Support from Dominion Energy allows us to meet basic food needs of those we serve, while also providing resources for increased self-sufficiency.”
“Support from Dominion Energy helps us get meals to people who otherwise may not have the means to have a hot meal every day. We appreciate Dominion Energy and their service to our organization, as well as their community involvement throughout South Carolina.”
“The mission of Palmetto Conservation Foundation (PCF) is to conserve South Carolina's natural and cultural resources, preserve historic landmarks, and promote outdoor recreation on trails and greenways. PCF’s largest and best-known project is building and maintaining the mountains-to-sea Palmetto Trail. The Palmetto Trail is proud to call Dominion Energy a partner. Since arriving in South Carolina in 2015, Dominion Energy has showcased good corporate citizenry at its finest. Dominion has funded grants to build bridges, connect critical sections of the trail and provided volunteers. Dominion Energy employees are part of our community and they give back in countless ways.”
"The Salvation Army is grateful for the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation and their continued commitment to serving the homeless and hungry in our community.”
